Grant Thornton International Business Report
Designs for an interactive version of the 2012 Grant Thornton International Business Report.

Background
Grant Thornton create a quarterly census of business leaders from across the globe, surveying 11,500 businesses in 40 economies providing insight on the economic and commercial issues affecting them. Dubbed the International Business Report, it is circulated amongst business leaders and features prominently on Grant Thornton’s website.
Traditionally, the report is prepared as a static PDF which wasn’t great for engagement and was laborious to create each year. I worked with Grant Thornton to create an interactive version which would not only be more engaging for their audience, but would allow for content updates year-on-year, thereby reducing the effort required to release a new report.

Data visualisation
Data values are shown as circles that change in colour & size depending on the value (positive or negative) they represent. Animating between states brought the tool to life.

Filtering data
Data can be filtered by topic, country or both.

Drilling down
Users can click on a region (e.g. Europe) to drill into the data for that region. Selecting a country will show data on the topic(s) selected.

Comparing countries
Up to three countries can be compared across all data.
